A Prelude to Wrath

Do not mistake the patience of God means that the wrath of God will never come. A day is coming when his wrath will be satisfied. God's wrath is a slow smoldering like waters held back by a dam. This passage is a description of the prelude just before the dam of God's patience bursts.
