Sermon: Luke 9:21-27, Philippians 2:4-11

Introduction: With the start of Lent…

I. Luke 9 – Jesus calls His disciples to self-denial.

A. It is done for Jesus' sake.

B. Jesus never tones down the costs of 
    discipleship.

C. Costly discipleship requires a firm resolves.

D. Self-denial is only possible through regeneration.

II. Philippians 2:4-8 – Jesus Christ is the epitome in self-denial.

III. Philippians 2:9-11 – The result of this self-denial is name above every name.
