Forgive Us Our Debts

Jesus teaches his disciples to pray, 'Forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven our debtors.' This presupposes the presence of sin in our lives as Christians. Although we are forgiven fully and freely by God when we repent and believe the gospel, we are taught to daily approach our heavenly Father for His forgiveness. How does it all fit together? We put all of the pieces together to maintain what Scripture teaches -- we are forgiven, we must be a forgiving people, and we need daily to seek God's forgiveness.
