Two Natures at War, Part 2

In Romans 7:20-25, Paul potrays the Christian's perpetual struggle with indwelling sin, a war between the Spirit-renewed mind and the fleshly inclinations of the old man. Though redeemed and freed from sin's dominion (Romans 6:14), the believer still grapples with the remnants of depravity, evidencing the ongoing need for sanctification. This inward conflict manifest the two nature of the Christian life: tempted to sin yet liberated in Christ.
