Gospel Community in Humble Self-Sacrifice

Philippians 2:1-11 urges us to live as Kingdom citizens worthy of the Gospel of Christ by exercising other-oriented Gospel unity with the mind-set of Christ.

1. Exercise other-oriented Gospel unity
   with one another (2:1-4)

   *Build on the Gospel basis for our
   unity (1)

   *Deepen the shared Gospel mind-set
   of our unity (2)

   *Cultivate the Gospel other-
   orientation of our unity (3-4)

2. Have the other-oriented mind-set of
   Christ (2:5-11)

   *Adopt the mind-set of Christ (5)

   *Christ humbled himself to the
   lowest for our sake by his own act
   (6-8)

   *Christ has been exalted to the
   highest to God's glory by the
   Father's act (9-11)
