The Gospel of Mark has gone from one crescendo to the next. In our last study we considered the remarkable healing of the demon possessed man. Jesus demonstrates His authority over unclean spirits by giving the word and commanding that they do what He says.

Earlier he had demonstrated his authority to forgive sins, to require obedience from nature's winds and waves.

Well, in this passage from Mark 5, we have a sign within a sign, a miracle within a miracle. We'll consider to "outer" miracle this week, and the infolded miracle next week.
