Learning • Digging • Trusting

The beginning of this message there's some sweet testifying of some of those we at the Chapel love and miss. They were having fun celebrating over the morning service and the visual illustration I provided during that morning's message on ignorance and accountability from 2 Kings 1. Several of these beloved servants are no longer with us. So I left it in this message for the blessing and good our Chapel family.

Come join me as we take a journey with two prophets... Elijah and Elisha. It's obvious that Elijah, and his brothers in the Lord, knew God was coming for him. And being the prophetic teacher that he was, I believe he wanted Elisha to learn from him, even after his departure from this earth. So, he commands Elisha to tarry, to be in no hurry and so he could take in all he can from each of these place for a reason. The word "tarry" means to dwell, to stay, to remain, or to abide. What's the significance of each of these places, and why would he want them to stay and dwell at Gilgal, Bethel, Jericho and Jordan?

I personally believe, if we simply take the names of each of these landmarks, they will help us understand what Elijah wanted to leave behind with God's new man.
