In John 19 – at the cross – there are four times that John tells us that this happened "to fulfill the Scriptures" (vv 24, 28, 36, 37).

Here in John 20 there is one more. In verse 9, they did not understand the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.

But we start – in verse 1 – "Now on the first day of the week..."
