A Donkey's Jawbone

Samson was enabled to do extraordinary things because God was at work doing miracles through Samson. Samson, was not faithful in following the rules as his parents were, however God used him to deliver His people. Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins, and there was great blood shed during the crucifixion. Most people do not live at the standard that we find in America. All people live in a world marred by sin and that is why there is sickness, darkness, and death. The only way to avoid these things is through Jesus Christ. Violence in the Bible is not for entertainment purposes. It is for instruction so that we understand that we live in a fallen world. We should have the attitude where want to do the right thing even if it costs us. 3,000 men of Judah got together not to fight their oppressors the Philistines, instead they handed over their leader, their savior. The people of Judah, instead of fighting for freedom, tried only to keep the peace. The Spirit of the Lord is why Samson was able to do the miraculous things that Samson was able to do. When God's power is at work, He can even use a jawbone of a dead donkey.
