Parable of the Forgiving Father

Closing Thought: The Parable of the prodigal son would better be known as the Parable of the loving Father, as its main point is the great joy God has in welcoming His wayward children home. This parable also highlights the hardness of heart of those self-righteous religionists who see not their need for forgiveness from the Father, who trust in their own works for their eternal reward and despise God's mercy toward vile sinners. Praise God that we have ears to hear, and the grace necessary to have our minds renewed and our lives transformed.
