One Spirit, One Lord, One God

The main subject of this chapter is unity in the church. In verses three through six, Paul provides the basis for unity. In verse three, he exhorted the congregation to "endeavor" or hasten to keep peace among the brethren. In verses four through six, he listed nine truths. He uses figurative speech to emphasize the triunity of God, the oneness of the objective faith and declare God's care of each.
