Faith is Never a Thing of The Past
24
Alfred Edersheim, the extraordinary Old Testament historian, points out that Israel's inner history as it exists in the end of the book of Joshua, and their outer history, teach us that faith is never a thing of the past. In other words the continued possession of the land was every bit as supernatural as the initial conquest of the land. This is true of Christian marriages and families too. Judges is a book that records numerous catasrophes. There are two conspicuous signs of future catastrophe that stand out in the text. They apply today too--very much so.
