Since this series is given as a seminary class it by nature emphasizes the Scriptural doctrines and as a result goes much deeper into the exposition of Scripture pertaining to the disciplining and raising of children. It is an excellent tool for pastors to use in regaining confidence in the clear Biblical teachings on raising children. In addition it is a very useful tool for deprogramming laymen and women who have come under the spell of Christian teachers who place modern psychology over the holy, eternal inerrant Word of God.
We will always be our parent's “sons” or “daughters” e.g. their “children” but we will not always be a child. There comes a point at which the Bible teaches that the Rod is no longer of use. What is the Biblical teaching on this subject? What alternatives does the parent have to the Rod? How does the parent prepare the teen for life as an independent adult? These and other relevant topics are covered in this closing lecture.
