Solitary Glorying

With two powerful words, God forbid, the apostle sweeps away all other grounds of boasting; he casts his eye upon the chosen object of his soul and relishes in the majesty of the crucified Lord of glory. He could have traced his hope to his Hebrew heritage but he doesn't. He could have fresh comfort in his education and position in the Hebrew temple, but he didn't. Here was a man who had been despised, had been beaten, had been imprisoned, and would soon be executed, but it did not matter. This man refreshed his soul in the majestic glory of God.
