Dominion Strategies & Tactics 20
Moses now reiterates the Ten Commandments and couples it with the statues and judgments, reminding Israel that they are under very specific Covenant obligations which God has sworn to enforce either through blessing or cursing, depending upon the actions of Israel.
He reminds them that their Covenantal duty was not only for the well-being of the individual, family or church, but for the blessing and benefit of the entire cultural order.
Only by the application of the God’s Holy Law could cultural stability be established unto a complete and righteous social order. They were to be faithful in all their doings, laboring unto holiness without murmuring as a model to the nations, always abounding in the will of the Lord – identifying, and then mortifying the carnal nature that so easily beset them.
