The Real Zeal

Are all types of zeal wrong? May it never be! In today's passage Paul praises his brethren, the Jews, for their zeal for God, but he points out that is not in accordance with knowledge. What is the knowledge Paul is talking about and what are the consequences of not having this knowledge in terms of its object and outcome?
