Vs1: because of the other things that Paul has been telling us in the first 7 chapters, because of all that there is no judgement to them that are in Jesus Christ. But this is talking about the judgement of condemnation to hell. There is no condemnation to hell to those who are in Jesus Christ. In this context, the word “in” means “solid, stationary, steady, grounded, in there permanently”. These people are with Jesus Christ permanently.
Vs2: the law or principal of being in Jesus Christ frees us from the law of sin. Our eternal life will live on. We now have a new nature that is not governed under the law of sin.
Vs3: Paul says over and over that the law could not save you. It only put the flesh to death. Jesus Christ had to come in the form of a man to die in the form of a man, so that we humans could see, understand, and follow Jesus Christ. He was a sin substitute for sacrifice. It is God's program for us to believe it, accept it, and move on.
Vs4: if you walk after the flesh, you are not justified in God's eyes. You have to walk after the Spirit that is put in you after you accept Jesus Christ into you heart. Our inheritance is that when we accept the Lord into our heart, He dwells in there and we are SEALED by the Holy Spirit.
Vs5: here is the contrast between the two types of people on the earth. People who walk after the flesh want power, money, material items like houses, jewels, cars. This is death. People who walk after the Spirit are at peace with nothing.
Vs6: The people who chase the fruits of the world are not happy within themselves.
Vs7: you cannot mix the two: desires of the world and desires of Godly things. You are living for...
