Sampson, Israel's Most Unique Judge

Before he is even conceived God makes known what was to be unique about the man Sampson. He will be used to bring some reprieve for the nation Israel from the long-term oppression by the Philistines.

Sampson will deliver Israel out of a 40 year period of bondage and be used by the Lord to provide 20 years of leadership.

His unique life begins with his birth when he is born to a childless couple. The preincarnate Christ makes two appearances to his mother as the 'Angel of the Lord' and indicates the son she will have is to be a Nazrite from conception. The child will be set apart for the Lord from the womb. As the Spirit of the Lord comes upon him he is endowed with great strength for which he will be recognized by friend and enemy alike. This will make several of his characteristics and how he, at times, chooses to conduct himself disappointing. These surface as he comes of age to acquire a wife.
