Conduct In Keeping With The Gospel
Series Philippians
“CONDUCT IN KEEPING WITH THE GOSPEL”
Introduction
I. The Meaning.
A. The word “conversation” in the text refers to our walk of life as heavenly citizens.
1. “Let your conversation be” means literally, “Behave as a good citizen.”
2. Here, of course, it has a spiritual meaning.
B. This walk of life must be in keeping with what we believe in the Gospel.
1. A life that reflects the Gospel “of Christ.”
2. A life that reflects the Gospel “of Forgiveness.”
3. A life that reflects the Gospel “of Deliverance.”
II. The Possibility.
A. Faith in the Gospel itself is the possibility.
B. Implying that where there is not agreement between one's walk and the gospel, there is a lack of (or no) faith.
III. The Importance.
A. First word of the text -- “Only” – that is, this is of importance.
B. Why is it important?
