The Great Awakening - An Introduction to What is a Revival

In this Sunday School, a list of 5 signs that mark a revival are illustrated from the testimonies of pastors used in the Great Awakening. A special examination of the real story at Enfield Connecticut when Jonathan Edwards preached "Sinners in the Hands of An Angry God is attempted here as only historical accounts from two men who were there. All other comments about what happened are historic embellishments. But what is especially brought out is the prayer meeting that happened the night before detailed by Eleazar Wheelock to Benjamin Trumbull that is left out of almost every history of this revival. Those quoted are Eleazar Wheelock, Stephen Smith, John Seccomb, Samuel Blair, and Jonathan Edwards with a summary by Joseph Tracy.
