Only Christ

This message develops one of the five solas (only's) of the reformation. The state church was teaching that Jesus was the Savior but His death on the cross provided only saving merits which were entrusted to the church and administered to believers through sacraments and good works.
The Reformers discovered from Scripture that salvation was only through Jesus' work on the cross and applied to the believer by the grace of God through faith in Christ alone.
