• called by God to a higher order
• confirmed with an oath

His qualifications

• took on humanity
• holy, undefiled in his humanity
• moved with compassion for sinners
• eternal efficacy of his priesthood

His experience "Son though he was"

• learned the high cost of obedience
• perfected by becoming our Savior
