The Sealing of the 144,000

As we begin to see the visions of Revelation chapter seven, we are taken back into Heaven. Jesus has opened the first six seal judgments upon earth. Chronologically, the timetable is exactly at the midpoint of the seven years of tribulation or three and a half years of God's judgments are now finished. {Chart)The opening of the seventh seal is the beginning of the seven trumpets judgments of Revelation. In other words, the seven trumpet judgments are the seventh seal judgment. These judgments increase progressively in severity and therefore the next three and a half years is called the "great tribulation" (Revelation 7:14).

Revelation chapter seven is now the beginning of the second half of the seven-year tribulation on Earth. Like the first half of the seven-year tribulation, the events of the sealing of one-hundred and forty-four thousand Jews takes place in Heaven. This sealing of these one-hundred and forty-four thousand glorified Jewish evangelists is the fulfillment of God's promise to save the nation of Israel by evangelism. These one-hundred and forty-four thousand glorified Jewish evangelists will be sent from Heaven along with "two witnesses" (Revelation 11:3) to reach the Jewish people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. After the Jews reject the Antichrist after the abomination of desolation, the vast majority of them will hear the Gospel from these one-hundred and forty-four thousand glorified Jewish evangelists and the "two witnesses" and will be "born again." These newly "born again" Jews will form the revived nation of Israel comprised of these all newly "born again" Jews.
