Why did Jesus eat the Passover?

A momentous event is about to take place and Luke wants us to pay attention. The Passover is imminent. The Jews had celebrated the Passover for approximately 1500 years before this particular Passover, and Jesus uses this meal to explain the meaning of his coming death. He prepares his disciples for what is about to take place. Jesus' crucifixion was God's fulfillment of the Passover. Jesus is God's Lamb. Is He your Lamb?
