Common Operations of the Spirit!?

WCF 10:4 says, "Others not elected, although they may be called by the ministry of the Word, and may have some common operations of the Spirit, yet they never truly come unto Christ ... " To properly judge our relationship with God through Christ, Scripture must be our guide rather than our subjective experience. A proper understanding of the 'common operations' of the Spirit as given in the Confession and Large Catechism help us grasp the importance of the distinction between this objective criteria and our subjective 'evidence.'
