Questioning the King

In Luke 20:19-40 the teachers of the law and the chief priests, looking for a way to trap and arrest Jesus, send spies to question Him in public. The first question is a question about life as they raise a political issue in an effort to trap Jesus. The second question is a question about eternity. Jesus' answer reveals that the spies (along with the Pharisees and Saducees) know nothing of the power of God, the priority of Scripture, or the priority of life.
