The Suffering Servant

Within the evangelical church world today there are numerous unbiblical views
concerning the life and work of Jesus Christ: from radical dispensationalist's "Plan B" to
liberal theologians calling Christ's death a "big misunderstanding." Yet six hundred
years before Jesus ever came to earth the Lord God clearly laid out through His
prophet Isaiah what His purpose and plan would be for His "Suffering Servant." As we
begin our Lenten sermon series this morning, we want to better understand God's great
plan for His Messiah.

1. The Servant's suffering is misunderstood.

2. The Servant's suffering is vicarious.

3. The Servant's suffering is voluntary.

4. The Servant's suffering brings exaltation.
