Launching Your Children

This seventh and final message regarding children examines the goal of our parenting. We have been given a special, temporary assignment to raise some of God's greatest treasures to maturity, and an independent walk with God. It is critical that we are FAITHFUL in this endeavor - being reverent to God, righteous in our relations with men and blameless in our reputation. The head of household must be FATHERLY: his call - urging his children to the proper code of conduct; his comfort - persuading his children to follow that conduct; and his challenge - insisting that his children adopt the code for themselves. The goal for all children is FITTING - to launch them into an autonomous dependence on God alone. Their lifestyle must be worthy of the character of God - if He is their Lord, then they must submit to His reign (kingdom) and seek after His recognition (glory) and approval, above all others.
