1689 CONFESSION, CH. 19, "THE LAW OF GOD": 
PARAGRAPH 6: Special Functions for Christians.

INTRODUCTION: God, the Law Giver, gives His Royal Law as Supreme God, Covenant God, and Redeemer God.

I. THE ASSUMED QUALIFICATIONS OF THESE FUNCTIONS.
A. The law is not a Covenant of Works for the Christian.
B. Righteousness is by Faith.
C. No Flesh is justified by the Law.

II. THE SPECIFIC ENUMERATION OF THESE FUNCTIONS.
A. The Law is a Rule of Life.
B. The Law is for our Good.
C. The Law Threatens Afflictions.
