OUR GREAT HIGH PRIEST
PART 2: CHRIST IS QUALIFIED!
TEXT: Hebrews 4:14 - 5:10

SUMMARY: Christ could not qualify as our great High Priest under the law unless He meet several requirements: the high priest must be taken from among men; he must minister to God on behalf of men; and he must be called and appointed by God.
I. HE IS TO BE "TAKEN FROM AMONG MEN ― CHRIST FULFILLED IT!
A. One of Us.
B. Separate From and Above Us.

II. HE IS APPOINTED TO MINISTER “FOR MEN IN THINGS PERTAINING TO GOD” ― CHRIST FULFILLED IT!
A. Gifts and Sacrifices for Men to God.
B. A Suffering Sacrifice.
C. A Superior Priesthood.

1. Because of the dignity of His person.
2. Because of the purity of His nature.
3. Because of the eminency of His order (Melchizedek).
4. Because of the solemness of his ordination.
5. Because of the excellence of His sacrifice.
6. Because of the perfection of His administration.
7. Because of the perpetuity of His office.
