Pleasers for the Sake of Christ

All Christians should seek to please one another rather than themselves, and in this way the weak and strong may be built up together in faith and unity of the Lord. Christ did not seek to please himself but accepted reproach for the sake of the church. He humbled Himself becoming obedient even to death for the sake of others. Christ came to procure a unified church, and as this church lifts up the name of Jesus, His people will better praise the Lord with one voice. While such unity of faith is a divine gift from God Himself, nevertheless the church is called to strive for and pursue such unity in all times and all places. As Christ has accepted unclean sinners as His own, those same saints are to welcome all such as the Lord will call whether week or strong in the faith.
