Colleges are more expensive than ever, and more ineffective than ever at providing a decent education. A federal study conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics, found that only 41 percent of graduate students tested in 2003 could be classified as "proficient" in prose, and that's down 10 percentage points since 1992.

If education is preparation for a man and a woman for life and eternity, then why is university education increasingly incapable of doing just that? Could it be that the biblical principles on education are bascially ignored by most teaching colleges? Could it be that Plato and Aristotle are more trusted than Solomon?
