Voices Bringing Comfort (Part 1)

In Isaiah 40:1-11, we observe 4 voices bringing comforting messages to Yahweh's children in Babylonian captivity.

I. The voice of God's messenger speaks tenderly to God's people (vs. 1-2b).

A. Take comfort that your hard labor is ending
(v. 2c).

B. Take comfort that your iniquity is pardoned (v. 2d).

C. Take comfort that you've suffered enough for your sins (v. 2e, f).

II. The voice of a prophet cries out that the glory of Yahweh shall be revealed to all flesh (vs. 3-5).
