Lk 13 35a Desolations Are Decreed

As Jesus grieved over Jerusalem, the city that killed the prophets and stoned those whom the Father sent to them, He warned them of the consequences of rejecting their Messiah. Desolations would come upon them.

Next week we will see His promise that Israel would be brought to repentance when they see Him return and recognize Him as their Messiah, God's Only Son.

One of the wonderful things we will see in this two-sermon set, is that God is a God of compassion, even as He is a God of absolute righteousness and holiness. He warns and exhorts us to repent and accept His gifts of compassion, seen in His mercy (withholding what we deserve) and grace (giving what we don't deserve).
