Like Daughter, Like Mother

In Isaiah 3:16-4:1, we find a 4-fold description of Yahweh's response to the haughtiness of the women of Zion, who are representative of the entire city of Jerusalem.

I. Yahweh charges the daughters of Zion (3:16).

II. Yahweh pronounces His punishment (3:17).

III. Yahweh reveals the means of His punishment.

A. He will take away their haughtiness (3:18-23).

B. He will replace it with mourning and captivity (3:24).

IV. Yahweh describes the results of His punishment on Jerusalem
(3:25-4:1).
