Gripping grace

Paul is fighting on behalf of the grace of God in Christ. He delivers a strong affirmation: "I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain." The logic of this demands that we make an examination of our own souls to ensure that we do not ourselves set aside the grace of God, but also allows us to enter into a celebration of grace, for in Christ the trusting sinner is truly safe, now and forever.
