The Dedication of Solomon's Temple

In coming to consider our motto text for this year, namely

2 Chronicles 7:14, this vision and speech made to King Solomon has a clear context. It was given at the very end of the days of dedication and feasting when the very first Temple was built. This Temple was a permanent sign of God's permanent presence with His people - specifically upon the basis of sin constantly to be dealt with by blood sacrifice.
