Sunday Sermon on Matthew 6:9-13: Insights Into The Disciples Prayer

27 ( 19 | 8 )

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, & shall be turned to fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry" (2 Timothy 4:2-5). 1 Corinthians 3:6-7 says, "I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase." Therefore, since God is the only One Who can bring people into His kingdom Wessels concerns himself with the preaching & teaching of God's Word (Jeremiah 23:29) & he leaves church attendance to the leading of the Spirit of God to those who have been truly redeemed by a supernatural act of the Spirit of God in their lives (Romans 8:8-17).

With that clarified, guest speaker Kevin Smead, Pastor of Grace Baptist Church located in Glenwood, Arkansas (& author of the booklet, "The Doctrine of Election: Questions & Answers" which has been recommended by Curtis Thomas of "Steele & Thomas" fame) preaches a sermon at Larry Wessels' home church of Dayspring Fellowship located in Austin, Texas which is pastored by Jackson Boyett (website: DAYSPRINGCHAPEL.ORG). Pastor Smead has a BA degree in Ministries from Ouachita Baptist University & is well versed in Reformed Theology. Larry Wessels, at first didn't know what to expect from this young preacher & early in the sermon was apprehensive, but as the sermon progressed & continued to its conclusion, Wessels was impressed enough to want to post it here on YOUTUBE.
