The Holy Spirit in the Church

Let us think about this truth this morning; that Christ is building His Church, and He is building it by and through the power of His Spirit. And the reason that this church shall live and flourish in a greater sense, if she does, is because we will have come to know the blessing of the Holy Spirit on our labors here. What I would like to do this morning is to begin to open up to you the mission and the ministry of the Holy Spirit in relation to the Church which Christ is building. I would like us to think together of these 3 truths. 1st – It is the mission and the ministry of the Holy Spirit to establish Christ's word to the hearers. 2nd - It is the mission and ministry of the Holy Spirit, both Old Testament and New to regenerate the hearts of believers, and to give them the gift of Christ. And 3rd - it is the mission and ministry of the Holy Spirit to baptize Christ's followers, and to form them into one Church. Let us now prayerfully consider this blessed work of the third Person of the Divine Trinity; He who was sent by the Father and the Son, to work in the building of Christ's Church and be our helper in that same regard.
