The Son of God did not come to the earth merely to save us from our sins. This He most certainly did, but His purpose was much bigger than that. God's Son came to earth to save all of His creation from the works of Satan. He came to destroy the works of the Devil. As believers, we are set free from the penalty of sin, from the power of sin in our lives now, and anticipate the new body that God will give us at His return. Satan is a defeated foe, and we must live as though this were true through victory over sin and rejoicing in our salvation.
