Psalm 44:19-22 With Romans 8:31-39

Examining Psalm 44:19-22, we see the strong affirmation that Israel's suffering in this situation was not because of their sin. They were suffering because they were faithful to God. Paul uses verse 22 in Romans 8. There we find Paul's affirmation that the righteous do suffer in this world. But though we suffer, it is not an evidence that God is our enemy. Rather, the love of God is assured to us in Christ no matter how our suffering in this world may seem to give evidence to God's hatred of us instead.
