Christ's Absolute and Ordinate Power
Series The 1689 Confession
42
Today I would you to think about Christ’s ordinate power in accomplishing His Father’s purpose; to go to the cross and to die in the place of all of His elect people. Because He was God made manifest in the flesh, He had the power to lay down His life, and power to take it up again. This He received from His Father. We see here that the Lord Jesus was in perfect subjection to the will of His Father in laying down His life, and He was perfectly fulfilling the purpose of the Father in His rising again from the dead.
