Christian Apologetics
Series Apostles' Speeches in Acts
352
Being a prisoner does not change Paul's message, only it’s style. He doesn’t defend himself so much as continue to give testimony to the victory of Christ over sin and death. He doesn’t meet accusation with accusation but shows both the Jewish crowd in Jerusalem, and the Roman Governor Felix, that he remains firmly consistent with all that God has revealed to Israel and that he has been released from taint of sin and fear of death by Christ’s fulfilment of all that God promised. This is what he commends to his hearers without bitterness or restraint.
