Philosophical Underpinnings of Post Modernism

The topic of Post-Modernism is not usually a familiar one to most Christian believers. It does not have its origin in the Christian church but nevertheless it has entered the culture, the church and individual Christian thinking to the extent that it has become a highly significant factor in the world today. This has occurred slowly and subtly without sufficient awareness on the part of Christians. This section deals with the emergence of Post Modernism in society and a deeper look at what it is, why it is, and how it functions. This lesson will examine the concepts essential to Post Modernism. In doing so it will give a summary of the characteristics of Post Modernism and features of it that we will examine in the coming weeks.
