Why does right doctrine matter?

We live in an age in which right doctrine is devalued. This passage is counter to that notion.

As Paul defends his ministry he presents himself as a father zealous to protect his household.

He wants to present the church as a chaste virgin to Christ.

He warns against those who present a false Jesus; a false spirit; and a false gospel (v. 4).
