Note – the one who is erring is part of the community.
This is not just “an error”.
This is a fundamental error either in:
An essential truth of Christianity
Or a blatant lifestyle of flagrant sin.

“To cover a multitude of sins” – is an allusion to Psalm 32:1
Paul alludes to this same passage in Romans 4:3-8
