The Fight: Spiritual Battles

1. v3. This fight is not a physical fight
   a) Satan is at work in the world

   • kicking God out of life

   • dragging God down to your level
     b) Satan is at work around the Church and the believer

   • Satan can find things which resonate in us

   • what could Satan do to make you stumble in your life?

   • How do you possibly win?

2. Our weapons are not physical

   • Eph 6:10-18
   • God's truth - the gospel of peace
   • Righteousness of Jesus Christ
   • Spiritual weapons which will keep from being pulled away from God
     b) Make your first priority being close to God
   • rethink those things which are distancing from God - his word, his people, life
   • Become a person of strength

3. The battle-ground of this warfare is internal
   mind words - arguments, knowledge of God, thought
   a) use the weapons you have been given

   • need knowledge of salvation
   • knowledge of truth of God
     b) need to recognise the things that are exalting themselves against God
   • Goals: danger of making goals the things that are important
     c) bring every thought captive to Christ

Conclusion:

• don't let your mind run free
• don't let Satan play on your heart strings
