Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Jesus gives the eleven apostles a look back to John’s baptism, and a look forward to the grand event ten days hence. John’s baptism was:
o Preparatory
o Symbolic
o Of Repentance
o Necessarily incomplete
o In a period when Christ was yet in the world.

The Spirit’s baptism is nothing less than regeneration. Unlike the symbols, it must be always authentic, producing transforming and mighty effects.
