Christ's Good Confession

We find here in these verses Peter’s denial and Christ’s good confession of the truth before the leaders of the nation of Israel. I believe that they are put in this close proximity to each other in order that we might learn from each. It is good for all Christians to learn from Peter’s denial of our Lord Jesus, so that we might not fall into temptation ourselves. And it will strengthen our faith when we see that it is our Lord’s good confession which has become the basis for our faith to be strengthened, so that we, too, can make a good confession. This is what your Lord is expecting you to do, in regard to what He has done for your soul, to make a good confession.
