The Good Deposit

“Hello, I’m William Devane”. Do those words sound at all familiar to you? Well, if so, you have probably seen at least one of any number of U.S. television commercials in which actor William Devane is either sitting in his den, working on his farm, or out on a golf course somewhere reminding us of our nation’s $18 trillion dollar debt and advising us that this is the time to invest in gold or silver! Well, be that as it may, as we turn to the study of our text we find the Holy Spirit inspired Apostle Paul speaking of an ‘investment’, as it were, which makes even investing in gold or silver pale by comparison!! In fact, here in II Timothy 1:12-14 and II Timothy 2:1-2 we find ourselves being comforted, commanded and commissioned concerning that which the Apostle Paul refers to as The Good Deposit!
